Hola,
And welcome to my blog “Doctors diagnose. Nurses cure” my blog is about exploring the career of nursing. My name is Abigail, I’m 18 year old, first generation to to college Latina living in the rainy/cloudy city of Seattle. I have always had strong passion for the world of health care, since I was young I knew that I  wanted a career that was hands on and but also that involve helping people and I have always seen myself working at a hospital, clinic in the future, what better than being a nurse they take care of you since the minute you're at your worst until you up on your feet again. But also I never been afraid at the sight of blood when ever one of my family member get a cut or it involves blood they always come to me for help and I like that they come to me because I get to play nurse for a little and not many things grosses me out I have always had a strong stomach. But I think watching too much  Grey’s Anatomy might had something to with my interest in being  nursing. 

 My blog will focus on research via primary and secondary sources on the insight of being a nurse and as will coming along with me as I go though the journey of ups and downs of one day becoming a future nurse. So join me over the next 8 weeks I will have 6 more post. Stay tune for a job shadow and informational interview, hands on experience. As well organized information pieces using highly pertinent secondary research. I hope by the end of this blog journey of completed research may help serve anyone interested in nursing get a better understanding of the career and opportunities of the career.

Job shadow / Doctors for a day!

On February 3rd 2017 I attended Doctors for the day as my Job shadow because of patient confidentiality it was hard to find a hospital or clinic to job shadow at, Doctor for a day was perfect because I got to spend the whole day with different types of physicians like physical therapy, prosthetic and orthopedics, occupational therapy. I got to see how it was like to go into those career for a day and made me want to go into a healthcare career more. when I first arrived we had a little photoshoot where they had us put on a lab coat and a stethoscope so we could look/feel the part of a Doctor. after we took our pictures we went to different stations they had set up. first station they showed us how to administer physical exams, measure blood pressure and take vital signs.                                                      CPR 101 CPR short for cardiopulmonary resuscitation According British heart foundation It’s a life saving medical procedure which is given to someone who is in cardiac arrest. It helps pump blood around the body when the person's heart can’t.
